Conference on legal aspects of personal data protection in cyber space

The International Conference on „Legal aspects of personal data protection in cyberspace” was held on 30 July 2018 at the seat of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. The event officially launched the ELSA project of the Poznan Law School on Cyber Law.

The co-organisers of the Conference were the President of the Personal Data Protection Office and the European Law Students’ Association ELSA Poznań. During the event, the representatives of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, the University of Groningen, the European Commission, as well as legal offices presented selected personal data protection issues in the new legal order implemented by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applied as of 25 May 2018.

One of the elements of the Conference was the Workshop on „Information and network security, privacy and data protection. A comprehensive higher education program in Macedonia”, during which the curriculum of the postgraduate studies was presented, being the result of cooperation of the President of the Personal Data Protection Office, Directorate for Personal Data Protection (Macedonia), the Commission for Personal Data Protection (Bulgaria) and the University of Lodz within the framework of the project funded by the European Commission Erasmus+ “Key Action - Cooperation for Innovation and the Exchange of Good Practices, Action - Strategic Partnerships for Higher Education”. The coordinator of the project is the University for Information Science and Technology St. Paul the Apostle, Ohrid (Macedonia). The Workshop provided an opportunity for the representatives of the Personal Data Protection Office and the Rector of the University in Ohrid to present the outcome of over 2-years long cooperation – an innovative curriculum of the postgraduate studies „Information and network security, privacy and data protection”.
