Study visit of representatives of the Personal Data Protection Agency of North Macedonia

The five-day series of meetings was aimed at exchanging common experiences and sharing good practices and drawing on knowledge already developed.

The guests were welcomed on behalf of the President of Personal Data Protection Office by Mr Robert Tyszewicz, Director of the Office, saying: "We are pleased with the many years of fruitful cooperation with the Macedonian supervisory authority and look forward to its continuation in the future. I hope that the days which you will spend at the premises of our Office will meet your expectations and support the implementation of the modernised data protection legal framework. It will be our great pleasure to present you the tasks carried out by the Polish SA, including the practical aspect of our activities."

Director of the Polish SA also pointed out that the cooperation between the Polish SA and the Personal Data Protection Agency in North Macedonia, has been going on for many years. In 2011, during a study visit within the framework of the project "Support for the Personal Data Protection Authority", representatives of the supervisory authorities signed an agreement on cooperation and mutual exchange of experiences.

Leonora Kadriji, Secretary General of the Personal Data Protection Agency of North Macedonia, thanked for the invitation and recalled that the Polish SA is once again hosting a delegation from Macedonia for study visits.

The delegation of the Personal Data Protection Agency of North Macedonia, in turn, gave a presentation entitled "Institutional and Legal Framework", which provided a comparative analysis on the application of data protection law in North Macedonia in relation to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The visit was funded by the European Union from the project "Support for the implementation of the modernised data protection legal framework", implemented for the Data Protection Agency of North Macedonia by the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency in cooperation with the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation.
