Asking questions

The Spokesperson Department replies to questions sent exclusively by journalists.

Media representatives are kindly asked to:

  • present a short description of a problem,
  • specify the expected date of reply,
  • provide their contact data.

ELECTRONIC INBOX

Motions, applications or complaints can be submitted in the form of an electronic document by means of Electronic Inbox (Elektroniczna Skrzynka Podawcza) with the use of dedicated forms available on the platforms ePUAP2 and biznes.gov.pl. These platforms generate an official acknowledgment of receipt of electronic documents, in accordance with the binding legal provisions.

OTHER FORMS OF COMMUNICATION

Regardless of the introduced communication channel through the inbox, the persons who do not have the means to make a qualified electronic signature or electronic signature confirmed by ePUAP trusted profile, can make use of e-mail - kancelaria@uodo.gov.pl.

The above address does not serve as a channel to submit any applications (including complaints regarding data breaches) in terms laid down in the Code of Administrative Procedure. Any applications being put forward should meet the requirements as outlined in the Art. 63 of the above Code, i.e. can be submitted i.a. by electronic communication means through the electronic inbox of the authority.

The Personal Data Protection Office does not issue official acknowledgment of receipt for applications sent by e-mail.

Personal data controller

The controller of your personal data will be the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych - Prezes UODO) with the seat in Warsaw, at ul. Stawki 2.

Data Protection Officer

The Data Protection Officer (DPO) is Robert Miętkowski. You can contact him by means of Electronic Inbox of the Office or by e-mail at: iod@uodo.gov.pl.

Only cases concerning the processing of your data by the Personal Data Protection Office, including the cases concerning the exercise of your rights of access to, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing of as well as the right to object to the processing of your data, can be addressed to the Data Protection Officer.

It is not the competence of the Data Protection Officer of the Personal Data Protection Office to handle other cases, such as for example providing advice, accepting notifications of designation of a DPO, accepting data breach notifications, providing consultation or handling complaints. Requests concerning such cases should be addressed to the Personal Data Protection Office by means of the Office’s Electronic Inbox with the use of relevant forms.

The purposes and grounds of data processing

We will process your personal data in connection with compliance with a legal obligation to which the controller is subject (Art. 6 para. 1 letter c of the GDPR [1]) and performance by the controller of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller (Art. 6 para. 1 letter e).

Personal data recipients

The recipients to whom your personal data might be transferred will be the parties and participants of the proceedings or the authorities relevant to handling the applications pursuant to existing regulations, to whom your application was transferred by the President of the Personal Data Protection Office.

A separate category of recipients to whom your personal data might be disclosed are the entities entitled to service of process [2] as well as the entities with which the Personal Data Protection Office has concluded an agreement for the supply of services to maintain the IT systems being used in the Office.

Data storage period

We will store your personal data until the completion of the task for which the personal data have been collected, and then, in cases in which it is required by the provisions of the Act of 14 July 1983 on national archival resources and archives (Journal of Laws of 2018 item 217 with amendments) for the period resulting from those provisions.

Rights of the data subjects

Pursuant to the GDPR you shall have:

  1. the right of access to your data and to obtain a copy of them;
  2. the right of rectification of your data, if they are inaccurate or not up-to-date, as well as the right of erasure of personal data in case where data processing is not carried out for the purpose of compliance with a legal obligation or in the exercise of official authority;
  3. the right to obtain the restriction of or to object to data processing;
  4. the right to lodge a complaint to the President of the Personal Data Office (to the address of the Personal Data Protection Office – Urząd Ochrony Danych Osobowych, ul. Stawki 2, 00 - 193 Warsaw, Poland)
