The first meeting of the T4DATA project partners in Zagreb
T4DATA project: TRAINING DATA PROTECTION AUTHORITIES AND DATA PROTECTION OFFICERS
On March 13 2018, representatives of the Bureau of the Inspector General for Personal Data Protection took part in the meeting of the T4DATA project’s partners which was organized by the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP) in Zagreb. The project is co-funded by the Rights, Equality and Citizenship Program of the European Union (2014-2020).
The meeting was an opportunity to discuss issues related to project management, financing, reporting and creation of documents. The talks focused on the future tasks assigned to each partners.
As a part of the T4DATA project, three transnational trainings for trainers were planned. These trainings are designated for the representatives of the data protection authorities from countries participating in the project. It is also planned to train locally 600 future Data Protection Officers from public administration. Local trainings will start at the beginning of 2019 and their goal will be primarily to raise knowledge and awareness of the competences and main duties of the Data Protection Officers. The project will end with a conference which will summarize the results of the project and disseminate information about the General Data Protection Regulation.
In addition, to reach up to 10,000 recipients, a platform will be created which will offer webinars (48 hours of lessons) devoted to the proper implementation of the GDPR in public sector.
The project began on January 8, 2018 and will last two years. It is coordinated by the Italian foundation Fondazione Lelio E lisli Basso-Onlus, and the partners of the project are: the Inspector General for Personal Data Protection, the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP), the Commission for Personal Data Protection in Bulgaria (CPDP), the Italian Data Protection Authority(GPDP) and the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AGPD). There are also 2 European experts on the data protection in the project consortium.
The next, second meeting of the project’s partners is planned in October 2018 in Warsaw.
