Transnational training for trainers within the framework of the T4DATA project

Transnational training for trainers within the framework of the T4DATA project, October 8-10, 2018, Warsaw

On October 8-10, 2018 in Warsaw, the second transnational training for trainers was held as part of the T4DATA project which is co-funded by the Rights, Equality and Citizenship Program of the European Union (2014-2020). The meeting was organized by the Personal Data Protection Office in cooperation with the project coordinator - the Italian foundation Fondazione Basso.

The first transnational training for trainers took place in June 2018 in Rome and initiated a series of three transnational trainings which were designed to enable data protection authorities to exchange experience on the application of the GDPR. The transnational trainings will result in 4 local trainings which will be designed for Data Protection Officers from public administration. The trainings will be carried out by the end of October 2019.

The representative of the European Data Protection Supervisor who also participated in this event, presented the long-term experience of the EDPS in the field of the cooperation with Data Protection Officers operating in EU institutions since 2002. Additionally, the experiences related to the application of the GDPR have been presented to the participants by the representative of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

The meeting was an opportunity to share observations as regards the application of the GDPR in the countries involved in the project: Poland, Italy, Bulgaria, Croatia and Spain, and to discuss the content of the manual for Data Protection Officers, which will be translated in January 2019 and will be available to all interested parties. The manual which was written by Douwe Korff and Marie Georges, experts on personal data protection participating in the T4DATA project, will be a helpful tool in creating a series of webinars available from next year on the websites of the data protection authorities which participate in the project.

We will keep you informed as regards the details of the exact dates of webinars and local trainings for Data Protection Officers.
